Donate Your Luxury Car

For the average American, it is very unlikely that they will ever own their own luxury car, although many would love to do so. Those who can afford luxury cars, will own several during their lifetime, often trading one for another. Rather than trading your car in for a new one, if you can afford it, why not donate it to a local charity? You won’t be able to tell the difference between giving the car away and trading it in, and you will get to claim it’s value as a tax deduction, so you really aren’t going to be losing anything, and you will feel blessed in the knowledge that something you didn’t want or need anymore could be used to greatly benefit someone else. You will find it much easier to donate your luxury car than to try to sell it or trade it in. All you do is find a charitable organization in your area that is willing to take luxury car donations, and contact them either online, or by telephone. They will get your personal information, name, address, type of vehicle, and if you want them to pick the car up, your address and directions to your home. You will need to locate the title to the vehicle, as well as any maintenance records you may have kept, which occasionally will help bring more money in for the vehicle at time of auction.

Depending on the age and condition of your car, there may be some special paperwork that will have to be done, it varies, but the charity should know all of the pertinent rules and regulations that need to be followed. You may not be able to reach someone when you call about donating your luxury car, you will likely have to leave a message and wait for them to contact you, which usually happens within about three business days of your call.

You may be allowed to drop the vehicle off and fill out all of the appropriate forms on sight, or someone from the charity may bring the forms to your home, and then have a towing company pick up the vehicle at a time that is convenient for you. Be certain that you obtain your receipt from the tow driver, as you will need this if you intend to claim this luxury car donation as a write-off on your income taxes.

Your luxury car will be sold at auction to the highest bidder, with the majority of the proceeds being given directly to the charity. You don’t have to worry about cleaning the car, doing any necessary repairs, or advertising that you would do in order to sell the car yourself, and the entire process can be completed in a matter of days, allowing you to concentrate on other aspects of your life. So, as you can see, it is easy to donate your luxury car to charity, so why haven’t you done it already?
